The arte of warfare carries within its province challenges of many sorts upon the shoulders of the brave men who meet the demands of king and country in defense of their homes. The helm upon the head can be a prison and the armor upon the body likened to the weight of a millstone to he who is not learned in the weaknesses and strengths of such tools of war. While many men claim the protection obtained through rank and station, other men trust to the wealth of the fortress of Defense. That challenge that is greater is difficult to measure, yet the measure of a stalwart warrior with understanding of personal strength and weakness is worthy of recognition and hath been nobly demonstrated by Lady Kathrine Vivan who did rise to a victorious day in the pine box Armor-as-Worn Rapier Tournament hosted by the Barony Marche of the Debatable Lands at the Spear and Fencing Tourney event on this 10th day of September, A.S. XL.
